MORE ABOUT OUR FRZY SMILEY COOKIE™ COLABORATION BENEFITING THE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL OF PITTSBURGH FOUNDATION

Frzy, a Pittsburgh native, is an Emmy®-award winning rapper. The 35-year-old Pittsburgher grew up in East Liberty and began rapping as a high school senior. When Frzy was growing up, he frequented his neighborhood Squirrel Hill Eat’n Park, and Smiley CookiesTM were his favorite part of the experience. Frzy says that even today, if he’s going through a tough time or having a bad day, his friends know they can make him smile by sending him Smiley Cookies.

In addition to sharing our love of Smiley Cookies, Frzy also shares our passion for Pittsburgh.  In 2018, Frzy won a Regional Emmy Award for his collaboration with WQED Multimedia on a remake of the iconic Mister Rogers’ song, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”  Frzy cares about being a good neighbor in Pittsburgh and has a passion for giving back to our community. His caring spirit makes us smile :).  In December 2018, he was part of a sold-out concert that raised more than $60,000 to benefit the Tree of Life Synagogue. His community service includes serving as a celebrity global ambassador for WhyHunger, supporting their initiative to raise funds and awareness for lasting solutions to hunger and food injustice. Frzy was the first rapper to receive the honor of being named one of Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest in 2014, raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Last year, he broke the Guinness Book of World Record for longest freestyle rap, while raising money for the MusicCares charity.

After meeting Frzy through the YaJagoff podcast, he approached us about creating a Frzy Smiley Cookie to raise money and create smiles for our friends at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.  The idea (and cookie) took shape and we decided to announce our partnership on Frzy Day, which is celebrated on January 11th in the city of Pittsburgh. 100% of the net proceeds of our limited edition Frzy Smiley Cookies sold on SmileyCookie.com benefit the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation.
